We believe this because the Bible makes historical sense, and has withstood criticism for at least 2,000 years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> We believe that mankind (that\u2019s us), in our arrogance, did not acknowledge God as Sovereign Creator. &nbsp;Consequently mankind turned to all sorts of human wickedness we recognize as sin, or our chosen imperfection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> We believe that God is perfect, and can\u2019t remain perfect if He accepts our chosen imperfection (our choice to sin).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> We believe that God is just, and consequently must &#8220;Render to every man according to his deeds&#8221; (Romans 2: 6 quoting from Psalms 62:12) <strong>if something &nbsp;dramatic doesn\u2019t happen.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> We believe that the dramatic actually happened when God, in His Sovereignty, sent His Son, Jesus, to be the ultimate blood sacrifice for the individual sins of mankind (including us). We believe this happened as laid out in the Bible, by prophesied crucifixion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;We believe the key for sinful mankind\u2019s reconciliation to God is faith in Jesus. &nbsp;We also believe that \u2018faith\u2019 (Hebrews Chapter 11) is doing something because of what you know that you didn\u2019t actually see or experience but were convinced of by evidence (Hebrews 11: 1).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> We believe it is through God\u2019s amazing grace (given by Him) that we are \u2018saved through faith\u2019 (doing what He said to do because of the evidence we see) as a free gift. We don\u2019t \u2018earn\u2019 salvation, we obey to receive God\u2019s free gift if we choose Him.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> We believe our response to God\u2019s free gift is the same today as it was when Peter told convicted sinners to \u2018Repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sin, and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.\u201d (Acts 2:38)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> We believe that Peter meant baptism was immersion in water because that\u2019s what the \u201cEnglish-ized\u2019 original New Testament word meant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We believe this is the beginning of the Christian life as God intended it to be. That is we believe God reconciles us to Himself when we repent of sin, and do things His way, and not ours. It is not the \u2018end,\u2019 but the beginning of reconciliation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We believe living out the Christian life is more than an initial reconciliation to God on His terms. \u00a0As a fellowship of believers, we study, strive, worship, encourage, correct each other, and bear one another\u2019s burdens as we try to fulfill the \u2018law of God\u2019s Christ\u2019 (Galatians 6:2)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WHAT WE BELIEVE<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-69","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.1.1 -
