WHY FACC EXISTS
- God is perfect and just, and so must, “Render to every man according to his deeds” (Romans 2:6, Psalm 62:12) if there is no dramatic intervention.
- God has intervened dramatically. In His Sovereignty, God sent His Son, Jesus, to be the ultimate blood sacrifice for the individual sins of humankind, ours included. We believe this happened, by crucifixion as foretold in the Bible. The resurrection of Jesus (also foretold) is the evidence that convinces us Jesus was who He said He is. FACC exists because of these facts.
HOW FACC UNDERSTANDS GOD’S PLAN
- The Bible is the history of how God planned to relate to His Creation, particularly mankind. We believe this because the Bible makes historical sense, and has withstood criticism for almost 2,000 years.
- In arrogance, humans did not acknowledge God as Sovereign Creator and turned instead to all sorts of human wickedness we recognize as sin, our choice to be imperfect.
- Through God-given grace, we are saved through faith as a free gift. We don’t earn salvation, but receive God’s free gift when we choose and obey Him.
- We believe Biblical faith (Hebrews Chapter 11) is doing something because you were convinced of by evidence supporting events you didn’t see personally (Hebrews 1: 1-3).
- Our response to God’s free gift is the same today as it was when Peter told convicted sinners to ‘Repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sin, and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38)
- We believe Peter meant baptism was immersion in water because that’s what the original Greek word meant.
- We believe faith-driven repentance and baptism are the beginning of the Christian life as God intended. They are not the end, but the onset of reconciliation.
WHAT FACC IS DOING ABOUT IT
- Living out the Christian life is more than an initial reconciliation to God on His terms. As a fellowship of believers, we worship, study, encourage, correct each other, and bear one another’s burdens as we try to fulfill the ‘law of God’s Christ’ (Galatians 6:2)
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13
